For students looking for more structured programming, EADAN has developed a mentoring program seeking to assist students working toward high school graduation and further education beyond high school. EADAN has developed a robust following amongst families, with more than 75 children having signed up to participate. Bolstered with technical guidance from Mentor Nebraska, EADAN has developed a valuable experience with regular engagement from volunteer mentors who meet with participants for at least one hour per week to provide guidance, help with goal-setting, and even tutor in specific subjects.
As part of our work with youth, EADAN offers consistent afterschool activities for high school students. Meeting three days per week for two hours after school, the program seeks to keep students engaged in positive ways.
Refugees come from countries with frequent violence so it is essential to help the refugee youth avoid gang activity and become contributing members to society. This program seeks to help kids avoid gang activity and direct their energy to more positive activities. The program utilizes volunteers to come work with kids. It meets once per week and currently has more than 50 kids enrolled and attending regularly.
